Answer» I have got a hard disk of 40 GB which ahas two partitions after full formatting.... another hard disk of 160 gb is having all data... but after reloading os the 2nd hard disk which also had 2 partitions is now shown as a single partiotion and when I try to acess the hard disk... Message appears that "DISK IS NOR FORMATTED... DO YOU WANT TO FORMAT DISK NOW"... PLS HELPSorry, I do not understand which drive has the two partitions. Also, it is very important you tell which version of XP you are using. You must have the XP sp-2 to use the 160GB drive, even if it has two partitions. Most often the PROBLEM you have is because of problems with the cables or the connectors. You did not say either drive was a SATA, so we think you have just the standard drives used on desktop PCs. (SATA drives have issues in Windows XP.) Also the program you had used to format the drive may not have been the right program. Also, with older computers a drive formatted in ONE PC may not be seen on another PC because of BIOS trouble in older machines and very large Disk Drives. Please provide some more INFORMATION.
