I recently went from IE 6 to IE8 and I am having problems with using the address to paste urls from other websites. My computer crashes when I try.  Is there anyway to remedy this?  I hear that this is a real problem with IE 8.

Try this method.  Right CLICK on a link you want to open and select Open in NEW Tab, or Open in New WINDOW.  Does that work?Please explain exactly what it is you are trying to do, how you are doing it, and exactly what happens when you do it.Clicking on the link doesn't always work. With IE 6 I was able to copy/paste the URL into the address bar.  With IE 8 you can't do that.  When I hit the refresh button ( guess that is supposed to be the button to use ) I get an Earthlink ( I use dial up) error page. All I want to do is copy/paste into the address bar like I did with IE 6.  Thanks for your responses.What happens when you copy and paste the link and then press ENTER on the keyboard?I thought this was interesting so I checked my IE version and it's 8.  I POINT put my mouse pointer over a link and clicked copy shortcut and then I clicked in the non-blank address bar three times which blocks it.  Then I deleted and pasted and was able to hit enter or once you paste the link a green arrow appears that you can click on.  I had no problems.
