Solve : PC files may have crashed...?

Answer»

Okay, I was playing a game, and all of a sudden I went to a blue screen...then it turned off by itself.  So, I try to turn it BACK on, and it goes to a blue screen, and shuts off again! (Same with safe mode.)  I can't use a bootdisk because it ASKS for the PASSWORD which I dunno it because it wasn't my computer, and my grandpa who had the password forgot it. So booting to LINUX is not happening.

So, is there any other solution other then reformatting? It may have been some crucial windows FILE that crashed and got corrupted or something...

Suggestions?

Edit: Using Windows XP.Open up the machine and take out the CMOS battery for a couple of minutes and also jumper the CMOS "reset" pins on the mobo. This should clear the password. And where should he go from here ? ?
