Probably not, but why do you want to do this? because i think my battery is dead. and the bottom on the laptop gets REALLY HOT . dont know if is because of the battery. thats why. just wondering. No the heat's not a symptom of a battery problem...all laptops generate heat from the bottom...but u dont want to leave a laptop on a SURFACE that would insulate that heat..like on a bed or w/e... for a long period of time. As for the battery, that's not necessarry at all. Just recharge it while it's still PLUGGED into your laptop...that's what they're made for.
