Answer»

I am sure it is OK.Try Vista CD in ANOTHER computer (see, if you can boot with it).
Run memtest.Yes, I can.
We have a total of three desktops at home with Vista installed. The PROBLEM unit belongs to my son. His brother has the identical Dell desktop unit here sharing the same desk. It is via this unit I am comunicating now with you.
I can try any method to try to fix it as you direct me to.Did you disable Integrated NIC boot in BIOS?
Did you run memtest?
Also, there are some hits on Google about "The amount of system memory has changed" error: http://www.google.com/search?q=The+amount+of+system+memory+has+changed&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-aRun memtest? Please explain how etc.Are you reading my replies?
READ #14OK, got it thanks. It looks like I will have to do this tomorrow morning so I will do so and try to link up again with you tomorrow. Thanks for all your help.No problem. You're welcome Um... I have heard of several cases where people are unable to install WINDOWS Vista from their disk because the disk drive in their PC is not a dvd reader. Is the disk drive in your pc a DVD reader?

Here is what it shows in Boot Sequence:

(checked) 1. IDE CD-ROM device
                2.  Hard Disk Drive (not installed)
                3. Integrated NIC
                4. Floppy device (not installed)

How OLD exactly is the Hard Drive? Quote
because the disk drive in their PC is not a dvd reader.
Good point.
