Solve : PC won't start up? |
|
Answer» My PC won't start up. All I have on the screen is a no sync input. This has happened before and I was able to go into SAFE mode and it would start up but now I can't even do that. I can hear the hard drive running. I've unplugged all the connections and replugged them all in, cleaned the hard drive, etc but still nothing? Have you tried reseating your videocard? I CAN'T EVEN GET IT TO START UP! ALL I HAVE ON THE MONITOR IS A NO SYNC INPUT. Quote did you connected the serial cable that run from the monitor to the pc <tower/desktop>and switch it on also taking notice to turn the brightner/contrast up.. I CAN'T EVEN GET IT TO START UP! ALL I HAVE ON THE MONITOR IS A NO SYNC INPUTCReagan THERE'S NO NEED TO SHOUT. What Raptor was suggesting you do is.....remove your vid card and then replace it ...making sure its in its SLOT firmly. When you replace the screw that holds it in place look carefully to be sure that when you tighten up the screw the far end of the card doesn't move .....or the motherboard may have flexed or moved as a result of expansion ....CAUSING the connection of the vid card in its socket to be comprimised. It doesn't take much. dl65 What did you think reseating meant...?Musical Chairs So SORRY Raptor.....I didn't know what reseating meant and now I do. Thanks so much for everyone's help. I will try what you suggested. also check that the serial cable pins are not bent and the serial port is not loose....i have can across cases that the serial cable has a loose wire and by wiggling it.. the monitor CAME to life...just suggestions...i trust this has happened by itself....or has someone fiddled with it..do you get any beeping...does the num lock light come on the keyboard... |
