Answer» my sisters pc wont respond, its an HP desk top pc. her tower is blinking a BLUE light, nothing plugged into the tower will work, and the screen has a orange light. the screen is black. she doesnt hear any noise COMMING from her tower, COULD it be her fan? she said that before this it would shut off unexpectdly.I'd guess at the Power Supply Unit (PSU). Take the case off and find out the rating of the PSU, example 350W. Get a PSU that is of equal or higher Wattage, with the correct connections (DOUBLE check with the mobo manufactures website, or LOOK in the mobo handbook). Also, while you've got the case open, get a can of compressed air, and blow all the dust out of the machine...probably best to do this outside!
