it always gives me a blue screen.
this is what it says.
KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR
STOP: 0x00000077 (0xC0000010, 0xc0000010, 0x00000000, 0x06631000)
its also done this one:
STOP: 0x00000077 (0xC0000185, 0xc0000185, 0x00000000, 0x09844000)
please help. i have no idea whats causing this. i didnt install anything new before this happened and ive run memtest and done a virus scan all of which came back good. Hi
Just found a Microsoft document, not sure whether it is any help
You receive an error message on a Windows XP-based computer:
"Stop 0x00000077" or "KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315266ive looked at the site u listed.
im guessing mine would be the:
"0xC0000185, or STATUS_IO_DEVICE_ERROR: incorrect termination, or defective cabling of SCSI-based devices, or two devices are trying to use the same IRQ"
which is good, but bad also, cause it doesnt tell me anything else. what exactly does that code mean? and how would i go about fixing it?
thatnks for the site. Download BlueScreenView No INSTALLATION required. Double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program. When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All. Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt. Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.that software doesnt work cause no minidump was created.
i have HOWEVER found the soruce of the problem and fixed it.
the problem?? easy.....
my hard DRIVE had a password on it so no one could get on without me. which worked great till recently.
when i put my computer into standby, the hdd for some unknown reason reset itsself and relocked itself. so when windows tried to read from the hard drive after i resumed, it couldnt cause the drive wanted that password, and windows of course wasnt gonna supply it.
so windows freaked and crashed cause the hard drive wouldnt let it read it. there fore no minidump was ever created cause the drive was locked.
howd i find all this out??
easy..
last night i decided to install windows on my other partition on my hard drive. (yes i have 2 partitions on my drive) then put my computer into standby determined to prove it was windows causing the error.
when i did, it actually resumed, but gave me "hard error" messages non stop. then out of no where it gave me a shutdown notice saying windos was being shut down in 1 min. due to dcom unexpeditedly stopping cause it couldnt read the file. the shutdown request was SENT from the "NT something/ system"
so i knew windows was what sent it, just not why, untill my computer restarted and my computer asked for my hdd password (something it shouldnt have done).
thats when it all fell into place. i took off the password and restrted the computer put it into standby and everything worked fine.
so to those who help with this error, in the future be shore to tell the person to make sure there is no password on the hdd first. i wasted time checking my memeory and hdd when all it would have taken was for someone to tell me to check my password first.
thanks.Thanks for posting back
