Solve : PCChips P23G & Celeron D 356 OEM?

Answer»

Hi,

I want to upgrade my PC to this mobo. I like this mobo because it's on sale and it allows me to use the RAM and the IDE harddrives I already have and it LEAVES me the path to upgrade to core 2 in the future if I ever need it. But the problem is I can't find info about the onboard video. I need to know what resolution it supports. I check everywhere, even PCChip's website doesn't mention anything about it, I am wondering if someone here who knows this mobo can tell me about it.

Thanks.

you can read all the reviews from people who bought this item over there.... Go to Newegg.com, search for PCChips P23G & Celeron D 356 OEM, tell me where in the spec mention anything about the video resolution.

As I said before, I did the search and found nothing. Otherwise I wouldn't have post the question here.

B.Onboard graphics will get you at least 1024 x 768. I can't imagine a need for higher resolution with onboard graphics. It will never be a gaming machine with onboard video. What were you planning on doing with the machine? Thanks GX1_man

My PC is a dual monitor system. Right now I have a 22" wide screen with 1680x1050 resolution, witch is driven by a nVidia card, the secondary monitor is a 15" driven by the onboard video, 1024x768. I just got a 17" with a native resolution of 1280x1024. (Right now it's on 1024x768 and it looks odd.) I am hoping may be if I upgrade the mobo to SUPPORT that resolution so that I don't have to get a seperate video card.

OH, by the way, the PC I am using now is a run of the mill 1.2G Celeron mobo runs Windows2000 sp4, GENERALLY speaking, can a mobo like that support two video cards?

Monitors are like steaks, the bigger the better.

Thanks.

B.
