Solve : pdf files don't open? |
|
Answer» For the past several weeks, I have been unable to open pdf files on my computer. The bottom of my screen states "done", but the screen is blank. How do I remedy this? I'm pretty computer illiterate, so speak to me in simple terms please Thank you for any help. Love, juliahhJuliahh, you need to download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader to view that file format. Why oh why did you point him to adobe. Look up foxit reader. Its much faster and uses less resources. First of all I believe the USER you are referring to is a she...and not a he. Check the username. Also...her problem was solved and she is happy. Nice job, CBMatt! 'Nuff said...Thank you very much, Saviour. She said herself that she doesn't know much about computers, so I think a popular mainstream program would be more appropriate for her. You're welcome... Absolutely...Plus Adobe...which you recommended, has been on the market for quite some time and is not only popular, but proven.By the way, can anyone comment on Adobe Reader 8? How does it compare to 7 in terms of speed of launching? Version 6 (6.0.1) was slow to launch and Adobe apparently got the message that users were complaining and so they improved version 7 to launch faster. soybean... I have 8 installed, and the installation went fairly quickly, however, comparing it to 7...WELL, 7 was much faster when it came to LOADING pdf files. I'm satisfied with its overall performance, though. It does let me read pdf files even though it takes a little longer to load. If I had my "druthers", I'd "druther" be using 7.Thanks for that info. I think I'll stick with 7 until compelled, for some reason, to upgrade to version 8. And, I expect that will be quite awhile. By the way, you can download version 7 from Adobe if you want to go back to it.Or GET Foxit . . . |
