Answer» I there, I'm RUNNING Windows XP. Sometimes my network folders (there should be two of them, mine and another PC connected via ethernet) show up; sometimes they don't. Also, there is a specific PROGRAM that should be loading at startup, but it never does. It's in the startup folder and it is checked in msconfig among the startup items. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your tips. i get that some times too. Did you TRY REPAIRING the network?go to start menu, then control panel, then device manager if you have vista , or if you have pro or home edition go device manager then click hardware and click on network adapters + icon this will open check for yellow marks covering this item if so double click on it and a repair wizard should appear if so click repair if you find this does not do what you want come back here tofind out more i.e reinstall
