Solve : PLEASE HELP MY ICONS AND WINDOWS ARE SUPER SIZED!?

Answer»

My Icons, windows and everything else are super sized.

I have tried all of the right click option and they didn't work. I have also tried rolling the mouse while holding the conrol button. Nothing is working. Please tell me you have another idea.

By the way I have XP if this helps.Did you try this: right-click on an empty space on the desktop>Properties>Settings tab, change screen resolution by moving SLIDER to the right. That's happened to me a lot.  Try what drmsucks said, but if everything is too BIG for you to see the screen resolution slider, as has happened to me before, try pressing tab twice in the settings tab to select it, then move the slider by pressing the right arrow key.  Also, if you turn off your computer and then restart it, windows should show a balloon after you log in that says your screen resolution is too small to display all icons.  Clicking on it should automatically adjust the screen resolution to display the desktop icons.  Just out of curiosity, what changed your screen resolution?Nice tip, typhoeus. Thanks guys! Unfortunately, it is still too big. There must be something I can do.  Did you download anything before this started happening?  Another option you can try is system RESTORE to a time before this issue happened... What Screen Resolution was shown?

Take a look at this: Follow above sequence but go to the Appearance Tab>Effects, deselect the Large Icon box if checked. What program did you install or run directly before it happened.  Sometimes, something, LIKE exiting the program through task manager or alt-F4, will cause screen resolution to remain changed even after you EXIT a program.  While this probably won't work, sometimes entering the program and exiting it in the correct way will reset the resolution.  Also, when I installed updated drivers for my vid card, it caused my computer to run in low color and resolution settings until I installed the drivers again, which fixed it.  So just tell us what programs(s) could have caused it.No such luck drmsucks. It was already on normal.

Typhoeus, my son downloaded something and he is not sure what he did. We just moved and his computer isn't hooked up so he was using mine. Yikes!!

Thankyou so much for all of your help on this!
Hope

Have you tried a System Restore? Pick a date before the download.Try the system restore.  Look in the downloads list of your browser to try and find the recently downloaded program.  Does your monitor have settings buttons on its casing?  I'm running out of ideas.Did you fix it?
