They are specific use ports. If you should leave them open, half the world would be accessing your computer. Every cracker, virus, and malware on the internet would come looking for you.ok well i thought that was the reason why my internet CONNECTION keeps failing. Wonder if anyone knows the reason. It works again after i uninstall my ethernet card (through the device manager) and then reinstall it. Does that mean there is something wrong with my ethernet card???*bump*What OS? See, the thing is, that is what i thought it might be (virus or spyware). I have ZoneAlarm already, also Panda Anti-Virus, SpyBot, Ewido, and of course the windows firewall. Still doesn't seem to fix things. At first it did, but it's not ANYMORE so maybe that wasn't it? Umm don't really know much about my internet connection. It's cable internet, 5MBps..I've called my ISP but they say nothing is wrong on their end so i have no clue. |
