Answer» I do not want my computer to hibernate. I have tried going to control panel and then double clicking on power options. The power options properties dialog box will not open. Therefore I am not able to disable the hibernation.
Why will the power options properties dialog box not open?
I have a Acer Travelmate 4020. WINDOWS XP professional. I run Webroot Spysweeper frequently as well as AVG anti-virus.
The folks at Acer tech. support recommended a full system restore? Do I really need to go to that DEGREE? If so will I loose the INFO. on my hard drive?
Can anyone please help me?

I tried that earlier today. Someone from the Elder Geek gave me the advise. It did not work. The result was the same as double clicking on the power options icon, no preferences dialog box opened.
Thanks anyway, anything else I could try?
