Solve : Power Usage, Upgrade wanted.?

Answer»

I would LIKE to know if there is a way to find out exactly how much power from my power supply I am consuming. I want to upgrade my video card but I DONT want to go past my limit which is 350 watts the video card SAYS a 300 watt power supply is the minimum power requirement so finding out what I am currently using would be great to know. They make power adapters that you can plug RIGHT into the wall and it has a little screen where you can see watts or amps. But, you should do the following.

When upgrading video cards, it always annoys me that the companies use watts. Some power SUPPLIES have a lot of watts, but not enough amps on the +12V rail, so it ends up messing up. What you really should find out is the amps required by the video card (which can be hard) and the amps on your power supply (which you can read right on the side of it (it will say +12V and then how many amps)).Ok tyvm for the input, I will have to check into that.
