Solve : Print Preview?

Answer»

Well, when I GO to print preview all the previews are in the actual color, so they look exactly the same as on the screen.

What's the problem with that, you MAY ask? I use a Brother HL-2040, which doesn't pront in color. So, I want all my previews to be grayscaled, but I can't find a setting to do this. How can I?

Using WinXP OEM SP2.I would do a Copy & Paste to a Word or Open Office page and change the color of the text to black. Then do your Print Preview.

Tim, UNFORTUNATELY this is dependant on the PRINTER driver.  If the printer driver does not handle greyscaling the preview then you're stuck with that, I'm afraid.  Some programs (notably design software) will provide the facility to preview in greyscale, but there is no GENERIC way of doing this.

Your display driver may give you the option of viewing your screen in greyscale, which would give a similar effect.  Or you could take a screenshot of the print preview and then convert to greyscale using image software.

Or you could just print it out.  To be honest, once you've printed out a few pages, I think you'll get the hang of how the colour will translate to greyscale. In that case, I think I'm SOL until I get the hang of it.
