I recently installed a new hard DRIVE.  Everything is fine, except the printing options layout is different.  Before it used to have an OPTION for double-sided printing, and it had the spaceship to HELP adjust the colour.  But that has now changed.  The spaceship doesn't even come up anymore.

It is not the drivers.  I had this problem last year, and for the life of me can't remember what it was...LOL.  But I do know it is something really simple.

I had Windows xp on both the old and new hard drive and the printer is the same.

Please help.  It's driving me quite nutty. Did you re-install the printer software, not just the drivers?No I didn't reinstall the printer software.  Unfortunately I can't find the disk.nefrett.....I'm thinking you need the printer software as Fed has suggested....so have another look for the disk or visit your PRINTERS makers website ...there may be the software there ......or as a temporary work around .......turn the page over and manually print the second side .


dl65  Is the software for the printer  still on the old hard drive!transfer it across.I tried transferring it across from the old hard drive initially, but it didn't seem to work.  

But all fixed now.  I went to the HP website and they have a great program that checks what you have and recommends any updates/downloads you need.  It even install it all nicely on your system.

I have my spaceship back.  "Yay"
