Answer» i tried every program like erd or others like it and nothing succeed. windows is not going up. so i enterd do the bios and then i saw that there is a problem: can it be that my hard-disk went to heaven? Or *censored*, depending on its contents... Run hard drive diagnostics: http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287 Make sure, you select TOOL, which is appropriate for the brand of your hard drive. Depending on the program, it'll create bootable floppy, or bootable CD. If downloaded file is of .iso type, use ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/ to burn .iso file to a CD (select "Write image file to disc" option), and make the CD bootable. NOTE. If your hard drive is made by Toshiba, unfortunately, you're out of luck, because Toshiba doesn't provide any diagnostic tool.Quote from: Broni on February 07, 2010, 11:37:20 AM Toshiba doesn't provide any diagnostic tool. Toshiba doesn't make a utility for their drives, but some of the other manufacturers tools have a option to do a 3rd party drive test. I know Seagate Seatools has this option. Also Hitachi and Maxtor utilities can be used. Have you ever tried to use any of those tools on Toshiba drive? I have and it didn't work.Quote from: Broni on February 07, 2010, 11:52:15 AM Have you ever tried to use any of those tools on Toshiba drive? I ran Seagate Tools on a suspect Hitachi HDD in a Techra S1 laptop belonging to my girlfriend. It passed the S.M.A.R.T. and Short Self Diagnostic Test but failed the Long test. Its replacement passed all 3 tests. We're talking about Toshiba drives...Quote from: Broni on February 07, 2010, 12:05:15 PM We're talking about Toshiba drives... Er, yes so you are. Sorry!
