Answer» I Installed Windows 7 trial and after trying to set back to xp sp3 messed up the BOOTING. I followed an article on microsoft website, and moved some folders and boot.ini file. Now When I start up I get the windows xp recovery console. It asks which installation Id like to log onto, either 1- D:\I386 or 2- D:MiniNT. I done chkdsk and messed with fixboot. I have no cds to REPAIR or INSTALL xp. Wondering if there is a way to MANUALLY set or restore to factory settings. There are two partitions on diskpartition. The computer is a 4 year old presario. Be nice to know if there is anything I can do or trash it. Id appreciate any answers.You will need to borrow an XP CD to do a Repair Install... |
