Answer» Hello
I seem to have partially deleted a USER. I am trying to delete all users so I can proceed directly to my desktop without seeing all of the users on a Welcome screen.
I deleted a user and an error occurred near the end of the process. I did not write it down because I did not think I would need to go this far in RESOLVING the issue.
I have tried deleting again through User Accounts in Control Panel and also in Dos using the Start/Run userpasswords2 solution I found somewhere in a forum. This partially deleted user does not even appear in this list in the Dos mode solution.
I am running Windows XP SP2.
Thanks VinceIf you want Windows to BOOT all the way to your desktop, you don't have to delete any users. Try this instead: Start -> Run -> control userpasswords2 Select the account you want Windows to login to automatically Un-check the box that says "Users must enter a user name" Enter your PASSWORD if you have ONE, otherwise leave blank Click OK
If you want to log in as a different user, then Start -> Logoff and it will show the Welcome Screen
