Solve : Problem reinstalling xp??

After various problems I decided to reinstall xp home oem.
reformatted h/d,starts installing but HANGS after 35% of setup is copying files. this is my 2nd attempt the 1st one stopped at 30%. please help :

specs:400 psu,amd athlon 2000+,1024pc133sdram,M/b k7sem ECS,DELL 17"lcd,Maxtor 40g h/d,lite-on cdr,SAMSUNG dvd, floopy/d,Leadtek Geforce2 mx64.Test your ram. http://www.memtest.org/
Let it run for a couple of hours.Could you please explain how?After you unzip the downloaded .zip FILE you will find a readme.txt.
Here is part of what it says.
