Solve : Problem upon updating graphics drivers.?

Answer»

Hey guys,
I recently upgraded a graphics card driver on my Toshiba Satellite M50 from AMDs website. And now upon startup I am greeted by the INITIAL Vista load bar and then a blue screen flashes up and restarts my computer. This happens regardless of using SAFE mode.

The upgraded graphics card was a Radeon XPRESS 200m. I know some of the system specifications, 1.5Ghz CPU with 768mb RAM using Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit (It's CURRENTLY in a state of not being 'genuine' as I couldn't find the software key.)

Hope you can help.

Best regards,
James. What was the reason for driver update?
Is it on-board video, or real video card?
Vista wants 2GB of RAM. Quote from: Broni on July 19, 2008, 10:39:57 PM

Driver update was to accommodate games that required an up to date graphics card. I'm not sure if it's on-board video or real. All I know is that it is integrated. Would it tell you on AMD's website if it's real or on-board? I'm sorry just not familiar with the terms.

James.http://www.maximumpcguides.com/roll-back-a-driver-in-windows-vista/I'd do the above solution if I could get past the BSoD in the initial startup.

James. All Drivers for any laptop should COME ONLY from the laptop manuf.
Used the Windows Vista system restore which seemed to clear up start-up issues.

Will take Patios advice and search from drivers from Toshiba. Until then, I'm taking the remaining driver issue over to the Driver PART of the forum.

Request topic lock.

Thanks for all your help.
James.Nice to see another problem solved
