Answer» Hi, I have a problem with the command PROMPT. I use windows XP (the greek VERSION) and I cannot see the greek CHARACTERS in the command prompt. I can type in greek but when I WANT to display a greek text, I cannot read it.
Does anyone know a way to solve this problem? What do you see instead of the Greek characters?
At the command prompt, have you tried
chcp 869to change to the "Modern Greek" console code page? You can type
chcp on its own to see what code page you're currently SET to.I tried chcp and I have 737 which is ok for me because if I change it to 869 I won't be able to read the paths of the hard disk which contain greek characters and are readable with 737.
The problem is that I am reading text from a greek web page and I cannot read the greek characters from the command prompt. I have attached I gif file which shows what symbols appear to me in the command prompt.
