Answer» I got a call from my sister today as she's having problem with her Windows' text display.
Text in her Windows e.g. title bar, icon, etc., and many application e.g. MS OFFICE, IE, etc. are not displayed properly, i.e. some are smaller than usual and some are larger, and with non-default font, and some appeared bold.
It is her desktop PC at work, and she uses MS Excel a lot, and she has serious problem with those pre-designed forms. When printed, all the texts are shifted in a mess i.e. out of position. I've gone through all the display/appearance settings and language settings with her but doesn't improve much.
Since it only happens since this morning, she has tried to do a System Restore but it doesn't solve the problem. Prior to the problem, she can only recall that the system prompts her for a Windows Update which she chose to download but not installed.
She would not consider doing a Windows repair because she's not competent to do a proper system backup, with all the important company documents on her computer.
She's running Windows XP SP2.
Any idea?
Thanks. Anyone?Did you try SETTING the Themes back to the Windows XP default theme? Yes...I SET all related options that I can think of back to default.the only place i can think of where these settings would be CHANGED is in the advanced options under the appearance settings
i know you've tried already but go into those settings and change the menu fonts ext around see if you can change them
its a very big long shot but try restarting explorer.exe in task manager ie stop it and run a new task and run explorer
sorry i cant be much help. its a very odd problem if resetting the theme doest work
maybe a screenshot might help?
i DUNNO just thinking out loud :-p
hope i can help you get it resolved
