Solve : Problems - autoexec.bat & config.sys??

Answer»

We have a PC running Windows 98 - when you LOOK in the autoexec.bat & config.sys file there are no ENTRIES.  Could this be why I cannot use my CD-Rom drive?

When the system is booting up - it detects the drive and the device manager says it is working properly.  I have removed it and then restarted my COMPUTER but it still won't work.

...Could this be why I cannot use my CD-Rom drive?...

Config and autoexec are not needed to operate any device under Windows.  They are needed to operate from DOS.Any SUGGESTIONS to troubleshoot the CD-Rom Drive?  This all started when NAV was scanning incoming e-mail - NAV has now been manually uninstalled because I could not uninstall USING Add/Remove programs.

Device Manager recognizes the drive, but it will not work.

Thanks
