Answer» I am running windows XP. When I turn on the computer i goes to the last known good config. screen. When you advance by SELECTING the last know good config. or the start windows normally it will begin to load windows but then the screen goes black and wont respond. if you load it using any form of safe mode it will print to sceen the folowing. disc(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)/windows/system32/drivers/ .sys with a list of system files dispayed simular to above. I use this computer for work. Is there a WAY to fix this without losing all of the data I NEED on the hard drive?If you have the original XP disk, you could TRY repairing the installation. You might have to reinstall some software, but you should keep the data. Alternately, if you have another computer in the house, you can BUY an external enclosure for that harddrive (which connects via USB cable) and copy your important files off it first.thank you i will try that and then rply if there is still an issues
