Solve : Problems with AutoComplete? |
|
Answer» Hello All, My problem is, I can't for the life of me get AutoComplete to work. I've tried going through the Control Panel>Internet Options>Content & have ticked all the boxes, but it still won't prompt me when filling in forms etc.You meant Control Panel>Internet Options>Advanced, right? And you have the box for "Use inline Auto-Complete" CHECKED, right?Quote from: Duh! on November 05, 2007, 11:08:38 AM How much memory does that laptop have? Hello Soybean, Thanks for replying so quickly. I hadn't gone to Advanced, but I followed what you said & the box is ticked. I just checked "Computer" & it says 0.99GB - I'm assuming that's what you mean? I picked my username carefully - Duh! It just describes my PC abilities to a tee!!Bump - Soybean? Anyone...?Try un-installing the google toolbar and see if it works...Quote Also, maybe totally unrelated & possibly something more serious (or just normal for Vista). A few times an hour, I'll get what I can only describe as a blink. The screen goes blank for a second - it's almost like when you blink slowly. The screen also goes black for a second before the screensaver comes on. Is this bad news or something normal? I never noticed it on XP.This may be related to some Power Options settings. When I reinstalled Vista, and I forgot to check Power Options, it was HAPPENING to me (although more frequently), until I switched to "High Performance" option.Broni - I tried that, thanks. It hasn't made a difference, though. Patio - does it make a difference that it's only installed on Firefox? Is this the same as the Google desktop that came with the laptop? TIA, Duh!Open your Registry Edfitor. Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main In right hand pane, you'll see: FormSuggest PW Ask Make sure, it's set to YesHi again, Broni. I tried all that (had no idea how to get into it but thank God for the help feature ). It's all set as you've suggested. Is there anything else I can try? TIA, Duh!When you say: Quote Autofill is shadedare you talking about Google toolbar, or IE option? Is it turned on in Google toolbar Preferences?Hi Broni, The Autofill box is ticked on the Google Toolbar (it even has all my info in the settings). All the boxes are ticked in the Internet Options version. It looks like I'm doing it all but there's obviously something I'm missing! Duh!In this case, I'd go with patio suggestion: Quote Try un-installing the google toolbar and see if it works... |
