Solve : Problems with install? |
|
Answer» I am reinstalling XP, the last resort to GET rid of a virus. Just before I decided to reinstall I used MSCONFIG to enable booting into safe mode. Now after starting the reinstall process, the pc reboots and still boots into safe mode. Setup can't continue in safe mode so it restarts. I am CAUGHT in a loop. I need a way to disable windows REBOOTING into safe mode so that setup can continue. I tried fixboot and FIXMBR from the recovery console. It is ntfs so I can't use a floppy to rewrite boot.ini. Is there a command line I can use to force booting into normal mode, or some other method that will work? Thanks.Did you remove the old partition and re-create it in the setup process ? ? |
