Solve : Problems with partitions?

Answer»

Hy!

I am new here and I need a little help. I HOPE you guys can help me out.
I have buyed a new computer, but it was having Linux installed with Linux partitions.
I have reformatted one of them in NTFS and installed Windows, but I don't KNOW what I have to do next.
I don't know what is with the SWAP file thing. I have to leave a 2GB partition for swap file? Or what?
And I want the 20GB one to be C, not E.
I don't like Paragon Partition Manager, it seems a little dumb. Is there any way I can do these with just Windows bootable CD?

Do you intend to keep Linux?
Is Windows functional?
What version of Windows do you have?
Are you experiencing errors?
You asked about a 2GB partition for a swap file. For what operating system?

You can change the drive letter assignment by going to (in Windows XP) Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management. The same tool also works in Vista, but I can't remember where it resides.

"Is there any way I can do these with just Windows bootable CD?" What are the these of which you speak? No, I don't want Linux.
Yes, Windows is functional, but is SP1, I just put it in 'till I find out what is with the partitions. I don't intend to keep it.
No, I don't have any errors. All works fine.
I understand now that the SWAP file is for Linux, is not needed for Windows.
These is changing partitions. I want C partition with 22GB and D partition with 130GB.Personally i would partition it as you want it FORMAT and re-install....re-assigning drive letters is fine after you have a working system but in this case you don't...

22G may be stingy for Vista...
