Core 3.0 ghz, asus p5n e sli motherboard, gforce 8800 gtx video card, (2) 1 ghz sticks of cosair ddr2 ram, 1 500 gig WD hard drive (soon to be 2), 500 watt power supply, samsung BURNER, and windows xp home. Try to instal windows, it will Just stop processing half way through, immediently restart, or when gets to saving configuration, I get the blue screen of DEATH telling me that windows has been shut downWhat do you mean, by "I try to install Windows"? There is no Operating System installed, or what?is there an os on it or are you UPGRADING to a better version?no os, this is a new comp. built from scratch. the error message i get is: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUALIRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error would indicate either overheating (new build? I doubt) or RAM problem. Test your RAM.Or you could check your components-videocard, RAM,-if it is seated well...Sorry for the LATE reply, I finally got xp to install, but now I'm having the problem of my computer restarting RANDOMLY. I've updated windows, and all the drivers I can think of. everything is firmly attached inside as well, so I'm at a loss for an explanation. Was thermal paste used in assembling the CPU/heatsink ? |
