As an aside ENDING processes willy-nilly is a sure way to CAUSE programs. several processes are necessary for the PC to keep functioning, and handle windows TASKS. the SYSTEM process is more or less a placeholder for driver FUNCTIONS and other kernel mode operations. Thanks BC.. my mistake ....they are 'Svchost.'....just a lot of them I tried to download the AVG and it says I already have a security /firewall program. I know you have to uninstall those others first, but I cant find what it is in the Add/Delete Program How can I unistall what I cant see in there ? Steve H |
