I am looking at buying my daughter a LAPTOP for school and occasional home use.
I have seen one ( ACER Aspire 5613AWLMi) which has the followign processor:
Intel Core Duo T2350 1.86Ghz 667FSB 2MB L2 Cache.

How do I know the operating speed of the system?

Colin The processor is clocked at 1.86 GHz. That MEANS it can do 1.86 trillion CPU cycles PER second. That is the speed of the CPU/processor (they are the same). The 667 MHz FSB (Front Side Bus) is how fast the CPU can communicate tot eh rest of the computer.
