Answer» I have a 1998 IBM Desktop unit with Microfsoft Windows 98 I have run the recovery cd and now find that I need the product key number before I can finish. I don't have the paper work that came with the unit. Can someone tell me how to resolve this problem.There is no other (legal) way to do it.That WOULD be hard.. If your windows 98 is an OEM, they should have the sticker of your product key on your computer...But if it isn't, its LIKE what BRONI said... Thanks to all who responded to my PLEA for help. I have searched the computer over for a key # but to no avail. I found a ph. number I can call Monday and try to get my key number. I STILL have my receipt from when I bought it.
