Solve : Profile corrupted? - thanks it's fixed? |
|
Answer» I have XP home edition and two PROFILES we use. When logging in to profile 1, everything works fine from accessing internet to opening file ETC. When logging under profile 2, click on any icons and it FREEZES up. Even when trying to enter the Control Panel, it freezes. However, I can log out and enter profile 1 and it's fine. I've tried creating new profiles but to no avail. I've scanned and cleaned the computer with Norton 360. Any suggestions out there from you computer savvy folks? I've tried creating new profiles but to no avail....which means? It looks like profile #2 is corrupted.thanks, I'll look in the forum to SEE if any suggestions might be there. I tried creating a new profile but it seems like I created a duplicate of the old one. If you have time, any suggestions or where I can find information on how to create a new profile without jeopardizes losing documents etc. I have used Blackviper.com: Service Profile Guide. How to create new profile, and move data from old one to new one: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811151Black VIPER's guides are for setting up different Hardware profiles...not User profiles. You may be getting the 2 confused as they are different beasts altogether. You're right, the two are definitely different beasts. I was able to fix the problem and to that I say thanks. ...and what did you do to solve your problem? |
