As I said in my first post, I did this with no effect.I'm pleased to announce SUCCESS!! I found out the file that connects one to Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel is called ACCWIZ.CPL, and is LOCATED in C:\winnt\system32. Mine was apparently corrupt. I found the file on my Installation disk, expanded it, and put it in place of the corrupt one. Now, everything WORKS fine. Thanks for everyone's suggestionsNicely done...glad to hear your all fixed up. With errant SYSTEM files sometimes it can be corrected by running sfc /scannow from a COMMAND prompt as well... |
