Answer» sup guys, i recently made a new disk partition on my laptop so i can store music/pictures... my question is, if i were to do a factory restore on my computer, would i lose all those FILES? or even the new partition itself?Yes. If you don't take this precautionary approach, you may find yourself in a distressing situation.what i ment was that i was gonna save all my stuff to cds, but i also saved it to the partition that i created and then do a factory restore..the result was that doing a factory restore doesnt effect any partitions that you create, so you can use it to store data, factory restore only makes changes to the c drive OK, then your factory restore does not work the same as mine, which is a good thing for you.

How do you "test it" without actually starting the recovery procedure?
