Answer» I know someone who bought a COMPUTER that came with VISTA. He did not register it but instead installed Windows XP. He is willing to sell the OEM Vista disk to me for $30.00. My QUESTION is, will the disk work on a new barebones computer that I am buying or, will the disk only work with the computer it was SOLD with. I understand that sometimes OEM software looks for hardware markers and will not install if the computer does not have those markers.Most dealers don't GIVE a "real" windows disc and instead provide a recovery CD /DVD. If that is what this is then it will not work.OEM software works only for a single computer. |
