Please explain more for I am confused. :-/ No he means an upgrade install. If you have a Windows NT machine and boot to an XP disk you have the option to do an upgrade install. It has to be Windows NT 4.0 and it can only upgrade to Windows XP PROFESSIONAL, not Windows XP Home. Windows NT 3.51 or lower cannot upgrade to XP. NT stands for New Technology. Along with that came NTFS, which stands for New Technology File System.My dad has a laptop (from the university) with Windows XP it's system directory is C:\WINNT does that mean that it was booted from a previous Windows NT OS?
