Hi guys, just a little question  
When i close down windows xp on my computer it closes down normaly, then says under the windows logo " it is now safe to shut windows down" so i have the press the on/off switch manualy on the machine  :-?
Is there a setting wich will fix this ? not so much a problem but a little anoying. looked in power options but no joy... Thanks for any help    pooly.... If you click the START button and then choose SHUTDOWN ..... do you not get a shut down windows BOX ? That box should be set to shut down ....then click ok and the machine should shut down for you ...it's not necessaary to use the off/on switch.

dl65  This is why its quirky, it shuts down like usual then when closed the windows logo on a black page reapears  with small white letters underneath sayin "it is now safe to turn off your computer.....

Then when shutdown is done.... black page with windows logo and above msg ?

dl65  No, just the usual one.. little one in middle ov screen with     "STANDBY turn off restart"  Do you think its a settin ?It sounds like a setting , can you post a screen shot of what you get ?


dl65  I cant because it closes down all the way. And i have no camara here 2day for a photo.. Strange realy as just as the power shud go off the balack screen with logo and small writing apears with msg....quirky i know.. Thanks for your time on this... muchos grat !! How about clicking start / control panel /user account    then select "change the way users log on or off"    where are the check marks ?

You dont need a camera to TAKE a screen shot , look on your keyboard there should be a key called print screen ......... so what you do is go whereever you want to take a screen shot of ......... click the print screen key ..... ( nothing will appear to happen )  then click start / All programs /accessories / paint .......  when paint opens ...click edit ...then paste .... and the image will appear ..... now click file and then save as ...... give it a name , and save it on your desktop.........  then go back to your post in CH ........... type your text and then down where it say attach ...click browse ...... then go to the desktop and attach the image you just saves there and then click post and it should be there for us to see .

dl65  Tried uncheckin the boxes you said but still the same screan apeared.... The final screen with the msg wont take a sreenshot as it is in closedown....[/img]
