Answer» i'm using vista...it was perfectly fine until i updated it...a message appeared that my copy is not genuine...so, i went back to the shop to get it fix...they only INSTALLED a RAR file that activated the window...so i thought it was fixed. I got home, typed my article...and out of nowhere i decided to compress the drive c where windows was installed...i also defragmented this drive...then i chose to hibernate my computer....and when i started it again, the mesage "bootmgr is compressed, pres ctrl alt del to restart"....so i pressed ctrl alt del, it RESTARTED but the mesage appeared again....i restarted it again but the message still appears...now i cant boot my computer and i badly need to use it...HELP?Quote i decided to compress the drive c where windows was installedWhat do you mean here? How? I found this: http://www.cybertechhelp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=151686all the solutions need the vista DVD and unfotunately i dont have it coz it was pre-installed in my laptop...
