Answer» I have the same problem. When I run chkdsk/r I get message chkdsk cannot run because the VOLUME is in use by another process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the SYSTEM restarts? y
Chkdsk could not schedule this volume to be checked next time the system restarts.
What can I do?Click Start, then Run, type cmd, and click "Ok". At the prompt in the command window that opens, type: fsutil dirty query C: and press "ENTER". Does the result of this indicate the drive is "Dirty"? BRONI...just so you know this was split from an old Topic...but it's his/her 1st Post...Just say yes and reboot.
