Answer» Hello everyone hop eyou can help. I just re-installed Windows XP Home and I am in the process of copying over all of my documents (music, images etc....) I FIND that if I try copying the files from the DVD+R back onto my hard drive some of the files or the process freezes (not responding) up my pc. I have been able to transfer some of the files but not all. Any idea what is causing this?How are you trying to copy them ? ? What file system are you USING ...FAT32 or NTFS ? ? Files or folders more than 4G in size will not co-operate...try doing smaller chunks.my HD is NTFS I have tried transferring them in smaller chunks as small 20 MB. some of the files work and some freeze XP upQuote How are you trying to copy them ? ? Post some specifics on the machine in question...Out of curiosity, why did you reinstall? If you were getting errors before you might have a hardware problem which is still present.
