Solve : Re-installing Windows ME?

Answer»

I have a (Dell) Pentium 4 Dimension 8100 with 128 of RAM. My OS is Windows XP which obviously doesn't work with my non-existant RAM..... THe COMPUTER originally came with ME but I decided to install XP and at the time I did not know it would run so slowly. So now I need to re-install ME but the CD to re install it won't work because I am in XP... So, how the heck do I re-install ME?

Any help?Download a bootdisk for free at www.bootdisk.com

Double click on the file with a blank floppy in the drive o CREATE the boot floppy.

Put the WindowsME CD in the drive, and the new boot disk in the floppy. Restart the machine.

When given the CHOICE, TAKE the first option to start with CDROM support.

When you get to A:> type in:

format c:/u/s

When that finishes, press enter.

type e:\setup and press enter.

Follow the prompts

SOme CD's are BOOTABLE. If you want to try that, just restart the machine with CD in the drive.

NOTE: You cannot do this from within Windows. That was the problem, Mac. The rambus is too expen$ive to be practical in his case.OUCH!!!
