Answer» I deleted files from my computer .. don't ask .. that I need to recover. In the recycle bin there was a file "S-1-2 etc" that I right-clicked and restored, but not all my files returned.
I desperately need SOMEONES help or advice. Do they make a program for recovery or is there a way to recover ??You might have a look at these. The more the machine is used, the more difficult it can be to recover things. There are commercial things that cost most and professional data recovery that costs a LOT of money. GOOD luck.
Remember - backup, backup, backup!
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=free+file+recoverykoalaw - First you should understand how deleted files are STORED in the Recycle bin and how they are stored when cleared from the Recycle bin. Go here and do a bit of reading.
Then go to here and get Restoration.
As a trial I have recovered files two years old with this program but it depends on how much free space there is on your hdd and how much hdd activity there has been since the file(s) was deleted.
Good luck
Thank you so much for your replies .. they are very much appreciated. I'm getting ready to try a program today and see what happens. I will post back to let you all know, since SOMEONE else might use this info to help them later.
Thanks again Please do post back. We are always interested in how the story ended. Just giving you GUYS an update ... I am using a program called Restoration from aumha.org and it is working great. I don't think I realized how much I had lost.
I also tried a program called Smart Data Recovery from smartpctools.com and it worked really well also.
Thank you for all your help. Thanks for the update..
