You have to start with diskpart.  When you're INSIDE diskpart, that'll open up the list disk and list volume commands.  If you exit out of diskpart, then list disk and list volume won't work until you get back in it.Sorry, I forgot to say what diskpart said:

So, diskpart didn't work at all...

I got into diskpart now. I had to TYPE these two lines.

net start dmserver

net start dmadmin

DISKPART> list disk

There are no FIXED disks to show.

DISKPART> list volume

Volume 0       X    BartPE                  CDFS            DVDROM            156 MB
Volume 1       D                                                     DVDROM                  0 B
Volume 2       C    My_Device            FAT32          Removable        7640 MBBartPE MAY not have drivers for your hard drive controller.

Try WinPE and see what its diskpart output is.
