Solve : recovery partition?

Answer»

n7iIve got a Toshiba c660/c660d laptop that is BOOTING up and shutting down very slow i want to access the recovery partition and take it back to its factory settings.
when i start the process it ask me for a password could any one tell me where i get this password from.
Ive had the computer a few years now and still using win 7
Any help would be much APPRECIATED thanks jhaddany chance you can screenshot that "enter password" box and attach it here?
have you tried the usual culprits; admin, administrator, password and leaving it blank?
next, you could always get the Windows 7 OS DOWNLOADED from MICROSOFT here; https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows7 and start from scratch.
I'm not sure how to take a screen shot i know its something ive done in the past i thought there was a screen shot button on the computer but cant see one on here.
When i start the process i get an analogue box where i select the country i'm in then it takes me to another analogue box , it gives me the option of homegroupuser or NEW, then below it asks me for the password.
I've tried typing in admin, administrator and leaving it blank but it still doesn't accept any of them.
Thanks for your helpI've solved it by selecting new instead of home group user and it accepted it leaving the password blank.
Thank you very much for your help much appreciatedcool, and good luck going forward with your task.
