Solve : red X in box of emails instead of pics?

I've noticed that my pictures come up with a RED x in a box instead of showing the pictures in some EMAILS. what can be done to fix it?
Which email service do you use? (Example: Yahoo, Outlook, Gmail, Hotmail, etc...)I've had that problem before. Went to www.java.com and downloaded free updates and that fixed my problem. It could be your javascript is out-dated.

Which OS and Email PROGRAM are you using? Some programs will prevent images from being downloaded to protect you from tracking cookies.Thank You for your RESPONSES, I use Microsoft XP, and Outlook ExpressDid you try to update your Java like version like 'Eveready' said?
