Solve : red x in the box? |

Answer» HELP! When I tried to put a smiley face on this post it refused. Please enlighten me the troubleshooting short cuts for this little red x in the box. When I try to open a video from utube or any other source on line it just gives me a red X in a box and says I don't have the plug ins. They all say to update flash player. No error code showed up when I did successfuly downloaded the latest flash player 11 and java script too, but to no avail. Still no video downloading. Same msg. Not even audio from a pod cast. I have a windows vista Turion 64 x2, ATI graphics and use AVG antivirus free addition. I've played with those SECURITY settings and graphics to try to make the proper adjustments.....I can't figure it out. Can You? I made a back up file on my D drive a few days ago that overloaded it = maxed it to 1% left. Deleted that and all my past cookie history....since then no slip streaming will come through. Not live and not video. Thanks 1.000,000Have you tried a different browser? Is your browser set to be able to load plugins and view IMAGES?My active x controls are enabled, In my tools add on box it shows I have Adobe shockwave and Java SSV HELPER installed...My computer often just stops responding in the middle of sessions in the past. I already did....Saying you have to install flash player? I noticed earlier you said that you only have Adobe Shockwave and Java installed, but not Flash... If you really have installed Flash player before, it may just be that the installation is corrupt. http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html Uninstall Flash player with the Adobe uninstaller and then reinstall it. Also, are you running the latest version of IE?His protection apps are blockin it...could be that we don't know what they are yet...Greetings...I have installed the plug ins reccomended to update my system (Vista 7 ) for what ever technology came my way....to no avail. I still cannot use the little smiley faces even , nor live webstream or archives, u tube or video feed . I installed Google Chrome frame + tool bar, silverlight, real audio plyer, win amp, In a scan it said I have 5 out dated = ancient drivers and controllers. Could that be it? The installatios were successful but the various movies, videios and annimations STILL say I need to install a html 5 supported browser or update flash. I have ..... Still have the red x in the boxes.... What's next on the troublshooting list? Appreciate your time & Help! |
