Answer» Quote from: Mulreay on April 03, 2009, 01:44:36 PM Thanks for the really unhelpful advice guy's. 3hrs that's a long time. I tell you what think of the number 2 for 3hrs. You can't think of anything else just 2. It's a random advert?? That is so lame, it's been on this site since I started so there's no control on this site? Broni don't try to personally attack me I have lots of common sence and I don't need your stupid comments. This is twice you have personally attacked me so what's the deal? 3 hours is NOT a long time. Especially in the context of a forum. now a chat conversation, thee minutes would be a long pause. The admin is handling the Advertisements- they were rated red and should not have been there. however they were still advertisements, and regardless of where they are, or what site, they should be handled with caution. In fact, if I had my Ad blocker disabled I would have seen them and notified the admin myself. The problem WE have is that you are trying to blame CH for your impatience. what did you expect "regcure" to do that couldn't be done with CCleaner; or even better by doing nothing? If you had an issue you could have posted about the issue. If it's any consolation I paid 60 bucks for System mechanic about two years ago for some stupid reason; didn't even use the bugger. that's 60 dollars down the drain. Quote I ask a simple question and would like a simple answer or non at all.err well- first you got no answer for the first three hours... then you got a simple one. Quote I know your all experts when it comes to computers but I have a degree in Astro-physics and I don't take the piss out of you for not knowing the ins and outs of the way the universe works. tell you what- MAKE a forum about astrophysics, and I'll make a post like, "what breed was Schrödinger's cat"? and we'll see how friendly the answers are, As a sidebar nobody knows how the universe works;(of course, that's not literally what you meant), However there are a number of theories on how it BEGAN, (well, one *ahem* real theory) and several on how it ends (the "big crunch" or the entropical spiral, and neither sounds too pleasant). In addition to studies of various phenomena such as Black holes, neutron stars, and quasars. We only know these things in the same way people in the 1600's *knew* the earth was flat. This is why in all sciences for all conclusions it's best to have "strong opinions, weakly held". Of course even the most proven theory, for example, the strongly held belief that the Earth was the center of all things, can be disproven should new facts be brought to light. One might wonder what this has to do with anything... Well, the same Scientific attitude takes place in the computer sciences, and while I might go out on a limb and say that most members of this forum don't have a Computer science degree, which I have neither, helpers generally APPLY a game of logic to determine the cause of a victim's problems. Of course it doesn't get so difficult as to know the implementation details and their differences between a Automatically sorted tree and Red-Black trees, and in fact these are usually kept in secrecy to protect childrens innocence (or something); to be truthful the few times that I've felt the proper context to explain some programming issue in great detail the next reply either begs the question or simply expresses confusion. Quote from: Mulreay on April 03, 2009, 01:56:50 PM No losses there then yeah- only the most contributing member on the entire forum. no biggie. In any case- what exactly are you expecting?I have to say that was the best answer I could of expected. Broni has my apologies, bc you... are... funny, cool, educated and very good at setting me in my place. The forum has my apologies and I hope I don't waste your time in the future.Quote from: Mulreay on April 03, 2009, 02:38:27 PM I have to say that was the best answer I could of expected. Broni has my apologies, bc you... are... funny, cool, educated and very good at setting me in my place. The forum has my apologies and I hope I don't waste your time in the future. don't leave however, my friend, you are quite welcome here- Although I of course cannot speak for anybody but myself But seriously, what breed was schrodinger's cat? Would a Hairless breed perhaps be more susceptible? Would giving the cat a PAIR of fuzzy dice skew the results, or perhaps lead to an alternate universe where all cats have fuzzy dice for eyes? who knows. the universe is our burrito; and we want to bend the very fabric of the tortilla, or some other appropriate metaphor, lol. you should stick around. I usually let fly with a humourous anecdote about some random animal EVERY once in a while. Why, I recall that one time, when I saw that bear on the highway with a garbage can, and I asked him what he was doing, and he said, "why, dear sir, I'm the garage BEAR of course". So it turns out, in addition to the well known tooth fairy, Santa claus, and Easter bunny, there is also a garbage bear. After being told that a police car pulled be over and I realized that even though some nice gentlemen wearing ski masks with large bags of what they told me was marshmallows gave me the vehicle, I had no driver license. I also found it strange that the officer was coming up the window with his gun drawn. And that was when I noticed the tied up old lady in the back seat. Anyway... Where was I... lost my train of thought. Oh well, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I hate sauerkraut. If it involved my machine and it's well being i'd have waited 3 Days for a reply...Registryfix is a paid software that's better than regcure. And I think that you don't have to worry about cleaning registry too often unless you had a problem in the beginning. I was told by a microsoft approved tech that once a week cleaning should be enough but even I don't do it that much.Quote from: x2543 on April 03, 2009, 04:46:13 PM I was told by a microsoft approved tech Honestly, that's not much of an endorsement... See here: Myth #1: Registry CleanersQuote from: evilfantasy on April 03, 2009, 04:54:05 PM Honestly, that's not much of an endorsement... That's what I wondered. Should I really, really trust microsoft customer service guys? Last time I called to get an software activation problem solved with microsoft, I was talking to some lady with an indian accent!!!Ok everyone has something bad to say about reg cleaning. But after all the comments can I assume I should just continue as normal as no problems seem to affect my system? Malware and Norton both come up clean and regcure just cleans a few COM/active x entries. And may be a few application paths. Oh and a few file/path references.doing a registry clean now and then is not a bad idea but you have to keep in mind that if something goes wrong with the registry, your computer may may start giving problems or errors. that is all that really is what's so bad with messing with the registry. I personally have registryfix and I do do some registry cleaning once or twice a month without hitches though... get rid of regcure for sure and get on with life. |
