Solve : Registry Key Deletion HELP? |
|
Answer» By accident I have deleted a registry key that allows me to use both my keyboard and my mouse. I can't restore because I can only boot my puter but can't do anything once it's booted. Is there a way I can restore all my registry information in MSDOS mode or something? Can anyone help?Quote from: mdestefano on September 28, 2008, 11:42:54 PM My keyboard and my mouse are both not working. Both are plugged in via ps2 and are RECOGNIZED with lights and stuff. I screwed with the registry and deleted some upfiling (?) files to try and fix my ipod. Now nothing plugged in by usb or ps2 works. It recognizes it when I plug it in, but does nothing.First, when you TURN the computer on, keep pressing F8. Can you get into Safe Mode?Yes. I can get to the screen to choose safe mode. I can scroll through the options and select to boot in safe mode. Once it begins to boot, I can't select my name or ADMINISTRATOR as user because I have no use of the keyboard or the mouse. This might work, pull the mouse and keyboard out of the computer, then turn off the computer, then plug both back in and restart the pc, and it should reset them in the registry hopefully! How do you back up the Registry before making any changes to it ? ? Just curious. So far you have removed entries in Device Manager and MADE random changes to the registry....this will eventually take you down the path of a re-install of Windows at this rate. |
